Abstract
The research aimed to understand the daily activities of long tail monkeys (Macaca fascicularis Raffles) in Cikakak Tourist Resort Wangon. Their daily activities had been observed from August to October 2015 by the scan-sampling method, while their movement behavior was by Chivers method. We followed and recorded their activities from the time they began to wake up to the time they started to sleep. The Path method was applied for observing the variety of plants the monkey consumed. This method required walking through the same path where the monkeys used to move around. We distributed a questionnaire to the surrounding society of the resort to understand society roles in conserving the long tail monkeys. The results showed 64 types of plants (35 families) consisting of 21 types of trees, 33 types of shoots, and 24 types of buds consumed by the long tail monkeys. Based on the questionnaire, it was concluded that there was a very strong relationship between social culture and the existence of the monkeys in Cikakak Tourist Resort Wangon.
