Diversity, structure & development, dendrology

Plant diversity includes diversity of land plants from mosses, ferns, gymnosperms, dicots, monocots.  Plant structure and development comprises morphological and anatomical variation amongst plant structure. Dendrology may contain tree sciences, tree architecture, dendrochronology, etc.

Ecology, conservation, vegetation dynamic, climate change

Plant ecology including the distribution and abundance of plants, the effects of environmental factors upon the abundance of plants, and the interactions among and between plants and other organisms. Conservation, the act of preserving, guarding, or protecting, wise use. Vegetation dynamics reflect the net effects of many factors, including climate, abiotic environment, biotic interactions, and disturbance history. Climate change affects the diversity and distribution of plants.

Molecular Systematics, evolution, bioinformatics, barcoding, genetic engineering

A systematics based on morphology, anatomy, molecular data. Molecular phylogenetics is the branch of phylogeny that analyses hereditary molecular differences, mainly in DNA sequences, to gain information on a plant's evolutionary relationships. Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field that develops methods and software tools for understanding biological data. This subject is a combination of computer science, statistics, mathematics, and engineering to study and process biological data. Plant DNA barcoding is a technique for characterizing species of plant using a short DNA sequence from a standard and agreed-upon position in the genome. Plant genetic engineering is the process of manually adding new DNA to a kind of plant. The goal is to add one or more new traits that are not already found in that plant.
