Segara Anakan is an estuary ecosystem that has strategic values for various human interests.  Therefore, an increase in human and industrial activities have increased the potential risks to environmental degradation and subsequently leads to a decline in biodiversity. The purposes of this study were to evaluate the water quality, and determine its status for the organism life. This research was carried out by a survey method during the dry and rainy season (April – September 2018) in the eastern part of Segara Anakan area. Data were taken by purposive sampling at seven water locations in the area of Teritih Kulon, Dermaga Batubara, Karangtalun, Donan River, Sapuragel River Mouth, Kutawaru, Babakan. The parameters observed were water quality parameters according to the water quality standards for marine, especially mangrove, biota. The water samples were analyzed by comparing to the water quality standards for mangrove biota life based on Minister of Environmental Decree Number 51 of 2003. The status of water quality was determined using the Storey index. The results showed that four parameters exceeded the water quality standards for mangrove biota life, namely DO, nitrate, phosphate, and TSS. The water quality status in the eastern part of Segara Anakan area was determined in moderate polluted condition.
